
Every year, in May, Washington Irving Memorial Park in Bixby is transformed into the largest BBQ festival in all of Oklahoma. It is two days of the State’s best Barbeque and music all rolled into one and is a community fundraiser created by the Rotary Club of Bixby.
The Rotary Club of Bixby used funds from past festivals to build the Rotary Club of Bixby Amphitheater which is located in Washington Irving Memorial Park.
Every Tuesday the Rotary Club of Bixby has the finest lunch programs in the area. We enjoy wonderful meals, as well as informative and entertaining speakers. Guests and visitors are welcome to attend.

Bixby Outreach Center
BOC provides help with food, clothing and other essential services to families in crisis in our community. Our club was the primary sponsor that helped establish BOC and we have remained its primary source of funding since its inception. To date, we have donated well over $140,000 to this organization.

The Bixby Historical Society
The Bixby Historical Society was incorporated November 9, 1983, in Bixby, Oklahoma, to provide educational opportunities about the history of Bixby and the surrounding area. It is maintained by volunteers, private donations and fund-raising projects. The major missions of the Bixby Historical Society are to discover, collect, and preserve material of historic value, while providing educational programs and exhibits, bringing together, and encouraging people interested history. In 2021 the Rotary Club partnered with the historical Society to assist them in their efforts to preserve our history and educate our community and schools.

Daily Family YMCA
Last year, our club helped the YMCA build strong kids, strong families and strong communities with a $5000 donation. The Rotary Club of Bixby has been a major supporter of our YMCA since our club’s early years.

Dictionary Project
Third Grade Dictionaries – Eliminating illiteracy is one of Rotary’s key projects. Last year, we distributed over 950 dictionaries to 3rd grade students in Bixby, Liberty, Mounds, Glenpool, and Haskell. Each student receives a dictionary with their personalized nameplate inside.

InterAct of Bixby
InterAct of Bixby High School is a self-governing Rotary high school club. The students will complete at least two community service projects, one of which is the Big Event which joins several Bixby High School clubs together to clean and beautify Bixby each spring.

Rotary Youth Leadership Camps
Several students a year participate in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), a camp where students develop leadership, communication, and problem solving skills in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment.

High School Scholarships
Each year, four high school students are awarded college scholarships. Since inception, over $90,000 in scholarship monies have been granted.
International Service

Afghanistan Project
We help improve the lives of people in another country. The District 6110 Water & Health Committee has worked for two years developing an international project that would partner with Rotary and Interact clubs in Belize. This project originated with the Rotary Club of Bixby.

Medical Supplies Network, Inc
Thousands of lives in developing countries are being saved by the efforts of the Medical Supplies Network, Inc. Through M.S.N.I., Surplus medical supplies and equipment are donated and shipped to 38 countries around the world. Members of the Rotary Club of Bixby sponsored the shipment of containers to Uganda and Belize

Mexico Eyeglasses Project
People living in remote locations near Puerto de San Marcos, Mexico have a difficult or impossible time obtaining simple reading glasses. Our club has provided 3 eyeglass kits to make over 600 pairs of reading glasses and provided a grant of $1,000.00 for school supplies and clothing for children in the region.
